| PROFESSIONAL | 1996-present Partner, McCarter & Higgins, Red Bank,
New Jersey. General practice of law.
1983-1996 Partner, McCarter & English, Newark, New Jersey. Specialized in business, toxic tort, and product liability litigation. 1975-1983 Associate, McCarter & English. Reported cases: (All linked cases are downloaded from Versuslaw.com , in my opinion the most reasonably priced legal reference service on the web.)
FIDUCIARY LITIGATION For a somewhat irreverent discussion of my practice representing aggrieved victims of bank trust departments, click here . NEW JERSEY COMMITTEE ON CHARACTER I am not on this Committee. The link above is to a disturbing account of how a local panel of the New Jersey Committee on Character tried to deny a politically incorrect young man admission to the bar by fraudulently distorting his testimony. The major perpetrator, Mary Maudsley, incredibly later served two terms as chair of the New Jersey Disciplinary Review Board, 2003-2005. Her partner in deception, Richard Fauntleroy, became chair of the New Jersey Committee on Character, 2004-2005. He presently (2007) serves as Board Chair of the Interest on Lawyers' Trust Accounts (IOLTA) Fund of New Jersey! No further comment seems necessary. Major investor, Discovery Wines, 10 Avenue A, New York, New York 10009. I believe this is the only wine store in Manhattan with computer terminals where you match your intended meal with detailed information about compatible wines from our stock on hand. We opened September 27, 2004. Discovery Wines has received favorable reviews in New York Magazine, The New York Sun, Time Out New York, and, believe it or not, Stereophile . If you like wine, it's worth a trip to the Lower East Side (one block from the Second Avenue stop on the F train). Two recent articles have promoted the many health benefits of wine consumption. The one from Food & Wine is simple and direct; the one from Nature is quite esoteric. Take your pick. One of the most useful articles about wine I have ever read was Dorothy Gaiter and John Brecher's final column for 2006 in the Wall Street Journal. Yes, I added the emphasis on "Find a good merchant". |
